The St Thomas Festival, Exeter is a celebration of our diverse, creative community. We hold our event annually in the west side of Exeter in St Thomas. This year our festival weekend is being held on 2nd and 3rd September.
We’ve been holding the St Thomas Festival, since September 2013 and thankfully it’s been growing every year since.
Our festival began initially as a way to build social cohesion. Our founders wanted to bring together the diverse residents of St Thomas, regardless of age, ethnicity or social background. They wanted to allow the residents of St Thomas, Exeter to show-case the creative, cultural and musical talents which flourish in our vibrant community, and recognised that we had an amazing local venue on our doorstep.
The pleasure grounds in St Thomas, Exeter are a fantastic, beautiful open space. Originally named as The Peoples Park. Every local resident of St Thomas, at some point, has enjoyed our park throughout the year.
There is no better a venue to host a ‘party in our park’.
We aim to hold a family fun filled weekend. Celebrating everything to do with local music, homemade crafts, delicious food and social well-being within the beautiful, historical City of Exeter. St Thomas Festival, Exeter exudes everything a community within a city needs and many thousands of people have continued to enjoy our festival weekend throughout the years.

All of our volunteers believe in community togetherness and recognise and love where we live. For that reason many local businesses, councillors, organisations and volunteers join together and contribute to the running of St Thomas Festival, Exeter.
We give up our free time once a month throughout the year to organise and arrange our annual community celebration.
As soon as the festival and our local St Thomas Community, Christmas Lights switch-on in December are over. We get together in January to start to plan and organise our next St Thomas Festival event.
Cold dark January and February evenings soon give way to spring/summertime monthly meetings, making sure our beloved festival weekend runs effortlessly.
With a lot of hard work, we make it look like it’s ‘happened’ like magic. But, in reality, the local St Thomas Community Association, businesses and volunteers have worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
Like a gliding swan, we’ve been paddling frantically below the surface all year to make it appear to look effortless.
Our weekend program of events, stalls and music is ever growing.
The festival brings the community together, to share fun, laughter and happy times. Dancing and laughing in our beautiful local park. Our peoples park.
